stayed at Puri Mesari hotel, next to Roddin & had a great time. Hotel is new and the locals don't know where it is - e mail me if you want more info.
Roddin is great if you get one of the more expensive rooms - the budget rooms are cramped and not sited very well.
Sanur is a really good base for exploration & has good enough beaches for a relaxing stay - Kuta is easily accessible. We made some good contacts which will pass on and found some excellant local restuarants
