I think you would still be hassled. The beach isn't the best in Kuta, there was a lot of rubbish, not to mention the chance of Bali Belly if you gulp any of the water. If it is a beach you want to sit on I'd suggest Seminyak up the coast, otherwise I would suggest sipping cocktails by the pool of Sol Elite (which I have seen video footage of and is magnificant)with no hawkers.
