No you can't change your travelles cheques back into US dollars for the money changes wouldn't have enough US dollars anyway. You are better off taking US dollars and changing that. You get a lower rate for traveller cheques that cash. Your hotel should have safety deposit boxes so take 100 dollars out everyday and change that, it will last you all day and maybe the next day depending on what you're doing. No need for travellers cheques.
