Dear Amber,

I'm Gaby and I am 8 years old. I have just come back from Bali with my parents and my sister, (who is 6 years old).I hope you have a great holiday- I did. Once you got use to the hot, using bottled water to clean your teeth, and communal public squat toilets - it was great !

Some things worried me;

*Like the begger children (Kuta/Sanur) on the street, following my family for 20/30 minutes down the street asking for money,

*A very friendly man in Kuta asked my Dad if he wanted to buy "drugs" while the whole family were sitting down for a meal in a local restaurant.

*The many hawkers, especially in Kuta, that kept touching me and asking me to ask my Mum to buy me something off their shop. Mum said they thought I was special and were touching me for good luck ! ( I think they just wanted Mum to buy something ).

*The head lice I got after having my hair platted at Kuta - not fair, my sister didn't get any, but Mum had to treat everybodys hair and we all went to bed that night with plastic bags on our heads - got some great photos!

*Restaurants that advertised "western hamburger - like Macdonalds" on their menus and when you get it it looks like something Mr Macdonald would put in the bin. I liked the noodles and rice dishes the best.

We had a pool at our hotel- nothing fancy, but it was great fun. The beach over the back wall of our hotel had a very big sewer pipe emptying into the ocean and Mum said we couldn't swim there because we would get sick- she always spoils our fun.

I hope you have a good time with your family. Love Gaby.
