The elections were originally thought to be in May now re-scheduled for June. And like Suzi says there may be a slump in tourism in Bali. (I have a friend in Ubud and when I spoke to him last week he said there's not so many tourists coming at the moment, so all this political unrest is effecting tourism). If Megawati doesn't get in it's hard to say how people will react - they are mainly staunch Megawati so whatever happens it should be united. I would only be concerned travelling to other parts of Indonesia in and around May/June. I'm not so sure about other currencies, but the A$1 fluctuates between around Rp4,800 & Rp5,600 (as it has for the past 4 months or so.
