Garuda V's Qantas

Can someone please shed some light on the difference between travelling these two airlines. We are planning a trip in June with some friends, but one friends is insistent they travel with Qantas as they have heard Garuda are not very good. The rest of us are happy to fly Garuda. PLEASE HELP. THANKS!!
