Hey Mr Dave,
Apparently all the little cabana type bars on the beach itself have been shut down and as far as I'm concerned they should have been, but that's another story. If you want to have a drink at night right on the beach, try Kerang Mas Restaurant on the corner of Jalan Melasti and Jalan Pantai Kuta.You still get the beach atmosphere in the outside section under some umbrellas. Bring your mossie repellent though!
