I thought about doing the same thing but wimped out at the last minute as I didn't know if it was legal or not. I really wish that I brought some back now. Just out of curiousity, did the effects seem to be different everytime you drank it, on the first night I tried it I ended up waking up in the morning totally soaked with no recolection of what I had done the night before, but my friends kindly informed me that I was dancing at the Sari club with my pants around my ankles and that I had to bribe the bouncers so I didn't get thrown out, among many other things I ended up falling/diving into our hotel pool fully clothed at 4am and waking up next to somebody I didn't know. (how is that for giving Aussies a good name)The whole of the next day I felt like I was walking around in a trance with a smile stuck on my face.
Armed with this information, I was back at the Sari Club the next couple of nights for repeat performances, but by the fourth night the jungle juice had the same effect as orange juice, I think I became immune to it's effects. Did any else have any slightly similar experiences, if so please fill me in.
I know some people will read this post and think it was written by a total idiot and they wouldn't be far from the truth, I am usually a very shy, mild mannered person, but I really come out of my shell in Bali, I don't know if it was the alcohol, arak or the attitude of the locals. I was worried that our behaviour may have offended some people and maybe it did, but every single person that I apologised to told me I had nothing to worry about and that not only did they think that what me and my nine friends did was hugely entertaining, but they also gained many good memories and embarrassing photos from us.
Everybody is entitled to their own thoughts, but don't waste your time posting back messages trying to instill your morals onto me or anybody else.only thing I would change about my holiday would be to make it longer because two weeks was definately not enough.
p.s. sorry about that long winded speech, back to the arak, if it is sold in Australia could anybody tell me the brand/s. Thanks.
