The beaches at Nusa Dua are clean, and I wouldn't say strewn with
coral, it is just the odd little piece, but it can be painful
if you step on it. You could go barefoot if you watched where
you stepped. As to swimming, the beach at Nusa Dua is fine,
a little on the shallow side. They put up barricades to keep
you safe from the jetskis, but I found I had to swim outside the
barricade to get any depth in the water. All in all, I prefer
the saltchuck to hotel pools. I am sure there are nice beaches
on Bali. Check the archives.
