Whilst on a tour of the Mother Temple at Besakih, my friend,
Roberto, who is an afficionado of all fruit, wanted to try
durian. He purchased a fine looking specimen and proceeded
to saw it in half with his trusty Swiss Army knife. They
call durian heaven and hell fruit, because it is supposed
to smell like hell and taste like heaven. We heard of some
hotels posting notices to guests not to bring it into their
rooms because the smell was really hard to get rid of.
Anyway, I digress. Roberto proffered us the doggy poop
like fruit fresh from its spiny home. Reluctantly, I slid
the repulsive fruit into my mouth, and was rewarded with....
the taste of doggy poop. I have actually never eaten doggy
do, but I am sure if I had, it would look, smell, and taste
like durian. Consider yourself forewarned!
