I have been to Bali 7 times and things have changed a lot with changing money and Maggs is right, they are worse than ever. What I have found though is that I now change my money at Money changers that state on their signs "No Commission" are the best. Their exchange rate is slightly lower, but they won't rip you off. So as a general rule check for a money changer that has the best "No Commission" rate.
