The restaurants in the hotel are not as expensive as one would think after reading some of the postings on this Forum. However the're only just average. We took full advantage of the great buffet breakfast which seemed to be included with most peoples packages. Only ate twice in the Hotel otherwise. The neibouring sheraton actually had better restaurants. We got a little tired of Indo food toward the end and had a wonderful lobster dinner their. Expensive but worth it. A lot of people ate at the galleria which is cheaper and within walking distance. Nusa dua is a bit isolated, but the metered blue taxi's are cheap. A couple of bucks will get you to the bumbu bali, which most people rave about for serving some of the best authentic Indo food. Three bucks to Jimbaron (we ate twice at inban restaurant about rp.110,000. for a kilo of king prawns, phone them and thew will arrange free pickup and return transport). Tried out Poppies in Kuta and various other restaurants in town that we stumbled across. There are really know end of choices.
There is sailing available in Nusa dua, not really sure what you're looking for? Hotel rentals of Hobie cat type craft, paddle boards that sort of thing. Really not a lot of wind when we were there however. Beach not the greatest, Shallow and weedy below the low tide mark and strewn with broken coral. Warnings about wading barefoot are posted, apparently stepping on a sea urchin is quite an unpleasant experience. There are no hawkers on the beach, so this makes relaxing on one of the lounges a pleasant enough experience. Ww prefered the pool which is huge, perfect temperature and uncrowded. Getting up early and snagging one of the beach cabanas is a treat if your tired of the heat.
