My husband and I stayed at Le Meridien Nirwana for 5 nights at the end of our trip to Bali last month as part of a Singapore Airlines package. We had the most wonderful, relaxing time there! The distance from Kuta was something we welcomed, and the free shuttle made it easy to join in the fun of Kuta whenever we liked. The food at the resort was very good (they have a regular restaurant, a grill-type restaurant that even delivers to you pool-side, a formal restaurant with more expensive but excellent food, and a pub). Restaurant prices were reasonable (high for Bali, good values by U.S. standards). We spent a lot of time playing in the 5 pools and 2 waterslides, relaxing and enjoying the fantastic setting. The resort is in excellent shape, since it's new, which was a welcome departure from some of the other places we stayed during our trip. The rooms are large, comfortable, and I can't recommend Le Nirwana enough! We didn't know what to expect after reading two rather negative pre-reviews in two travel books, but the resort doesn't interfere with Tanah Lot at all. You can see Tanah Lot while eating breakfast, but we couldn't see the resort from Tanah Lot. In fact, it was wonderful to be able to walk to Tanah Lot in less than ten minutes along the beach and avoid the gauntlet of hawkers! I also recommend trying a massage at Le Meridien -- the Javanese lulur in particular! Enjoy!
