I suggest you catch a taxi from the airport taxi counter, just to the left where you come out from the building. (The standard cost to Ubud is/was (2 months ago) Rp60,000). Perhaps, if you're arriving late at night and no doubt with luggage/backpack on board, you should have the 1st night booked at least, makes life easier less stressful. Some of the off-the beaten accommodation places where it's owner/family run you may be better off finding during the day, some may be difficult to find at night with a taxi-driver who may be just as confused as you.

Ubud is pronounced "oob-ood".
