We have stayed at the Sahid Raya in Kuta 3 times. It is a good hotel large, 2 pools, over the road from Kuta Beach...You can choose from hotel rooms or bungalows. We had a bungalow because we like to sit on our balcony in the evening and most of the hotel rooms don't have a balcony and the rooms in the old block are rather grotty. Bungalows could do with a bit of renovation but are on the whole comfortable and clean. It is in a good spot, the gate out the back leads on to Poppies 2, a short walk thru there and you are on Jalan Legian. Don't know about the Sahid Resort thou.
