Another great place to get ikat pieces is in Tenganan, one of Bali Aga villages. Ikat is the name of a process (ikat, "to tie"). You may pay more for a piece here, but you'll see them at work on "double ikat" and if you spare the time, you'll be fascinated with the history of the village and the history behind the ikat.
