Have not been to Waka di Ume, so can't compare it to that, but Komaneka is architecturally, style and feel-wise a lot like the Chedi. I wrote a post earlier this week about the Chedi. Komaneka is what in America would be described as a boutique hotel. It is right in town, off Monkey Forest Road, so you are right in the action of eating and shopping, yet it is very quiet as it is set quite a ways back from the road and there is another building (the art gallery) between it and the road. I thought the rooms overlooking the rice paddy most charming. There is a small but delightful pool. I am planning to stay there on my next trip to Bali.
