jason the first two comments above are regarding public bemos which hoot along set routes and are very cheap 2-3000 rups a ride.
private bemos you hire anywhere and for any length of journey 2 minutes to all day.
i was there nov and you could get one all day for around US$10 or 20 - 25 aus.
i suggest you find a driver who is pretty cool and friendly i ended up going to the one i went withs daughters christening which is abig event in bali - great people
bemos are great and dont skimp on the tip coz its peanuts to us and a treasure to them.
