Ive found when catching bemos that if you organise the price before
hand they charge you for the whole bemo. We always just got on with
the locals looking like we knew what we were doing then towards the
end of the trip some one would start collecting money from passengers
keep an eye on how much the locals are paying and just pay the same
amount, if you cant see just give 1000Rp or so and see what happens
sometimes you even get change back. This is a lot easier the firther
you get from Kuta as there not so used to westerners simply jumping
on. When catching busses from stations there will usually be a board
somewhere with prices to destinations use these larger busses for
longer trips between towns, if you have the correct money ready
there will usually be no argument however if there not happy or
insist on tourist price throwing in another 1000Rp doesnt cost us
much and should keep them happy. Enjoy your bemoing
