They do go all over, but it takes a lot of planning and negotiating. They tend to go fairly short distances to a 'bemo corner' where you have to find the connecting bemo for your destination. Very economical if you know where you are going. You pay each section separately. I was told it was R2,000 per section in September last year, which I think was a bit more than the locals were paying. Ask around (hotel, shops, etc.) for information on bemo routes (where to change, if necessary) and what the fare should be for each section to your destination. Don't be surprised if the driver wants to charge you more and don't be too rigid about the price - think of the price for a taxi or bus in your country and you'll relise you're talking peanuts in comparison. But always wise to set the price before getting in if possible, which can be a bit difficult when hailing them from a busy road and people crowding in with baskets of eggs, chickens, watermelons, etc. If you're not familiar with Bali and
