I had a camera and money stolen from my hotel last march and needed a report from the police so as to claim my loss. I arrived at the police station and there were about eight other Aussies there all waiting to give their report on lost items. After two hours and the line had not moved I spoke to the policeman in charge and after handing him 30,000 rph I went into another room and gave my report. The policeman asked me not to say anything to the others as they did not want to pay. I have been stopped twice on bikes and the usual 5,000 smokes charge applies. I must admitt you do have about a half talk with the policeman after that and he can tell you a lot of places to go. It does happen.
