In Ubud we stayed at Villa Chempaka bungalows down lane off main rd with school on 1 corner and Miro's Garden on the other (not far west of Museum Puri Lukisan (recommended especially Sunday childrens dance)
halway down this lane (about 3 mins) is RodaNet Cyber Cafe - check out the big spider on the cobweb outside

At (north) Legian we stayed at Hotel Jayakarta and I used (the original) BaliCyberCafe opposite Gaj Gaja cafe (good breakfast) - the one with the white elephant outside

Internet connections everywhere . I like the tip about using a Hotmail address and yes it is relatively cheap . However connections are slow apparantly , in case you want to check the stock market ....
