Tina, you will eat wonderfully in Bali. There are meatless meals available everywhere, and the range of choices will astound you. You might have to be careful about chicken stock in some rice dishes, and the staple nasi Goreng (rice with vegetables, stir-fried) often has eggs in it and sometimes bits of chicken. I've always been able to have these left out with a polite request.
My favorite light meal in Ubud will be just right for you: Go to the Cafe Bali next to the soccer field and get the shrimp and avocado salad. You could live comfortably on those. Greens, a whole avocado, tomatoes, pineapple, nice big shrimp and a fine nest of green-beans at the bottom, with a light sweet home-made sauce. Mail me one.
I can send you a picture if you want. I liked it that much.
