You've included a few of my favourites ie Cafe Etniks, Orchid Garden & Macaronis. Might mention that along Jalan Melasti you have great (and cheap) breakfast restaurants. Legion Garden, Bali 2 and Aussie.
Soozee - I've never heard THAT one about the police. (And I've stayed at a few dodgy places and never seen the police hanging about)
