I did not do any running, but I did plenty of long walks around the Kuta/Tuban area both morning & night. Although I saw plenty of dogs, only one wanted to have ago at me, and soon changed its mind when I growled at it. So, I don't think you should have any problems with your morning run - just make sure you keep drinking plenty of water, running in Bali at any time of the day or night is going to be hard work !!!!
