anything is possible. I haven't been to Bali yet, so I'm not one to give advice. I haven't seen anyone write about that, though (and there are lots of postings about Jimbaran). I would think that the overworked & underpaid Balinese would be willing to do just about anything for money.
My take on that:
It was either a pompous man who didn't want to get his expensive shoes ruined or a demanding women who didn't want to damage her recent pedicure, and they paid the waiter an extra few bucks to carry them away (like a king/queen).
Just kidding! Ha! Ha! It does sound quite cute.
