We stayed at Risata Beach Hotel and found an honest money changer down street from the hotel. The owner is a friendly balinese man named Nengah-Nuasa also known as "Putu". He had the highest exchange rate posted and DID NOT charge commission meaning he did not any money from you when you changed it to rupiah. Beware that there are people that try to trick and confuse you while counting the cash especially if they know you are not familiar w/ their currency.
here's the place to go:
Owner: Nengah Nuasa or Putu
Wana Segara St No.10
Kuta-Bali Indonesia
Phone: (0361) 754557
He has a driver named Gudae (pronounced Gooday). He speaks good English and can take you anywhere you want and help you find good bargains. For a group of 5 people, we paid US$20 for a driver and car from 9 a.m.-8:00 p.m. They don't take tips unless you insist.
