Sounds like you are planning a nice trip. Your time allocation really depends on what you want to do. If you want to relax, be pampered and never leave your hotel you can't go wrong with either the Amandari or the Four Seasons in Ubud. However you don't need to sped that kind of money to live first class. Might I suggest that when in Ubud you check out the Komaneka Resort on Monkey Forest Rd. It is right in the center of this busy little town but as turn off the main street you are transported to a wonderful place of peace and tranquility. I recently stayed there in a villa for $150 per night and it was worth every penny. Ubud is the perfect place to have as your base as you can take day trips within to many interesting sights. Hire a driver for the day. An air conditioned car shouldn't cost more than $20 bucks for the day. The Amankila is lovely but it is nowhere. Candidasa doesn't have a beach but does have a few interesting sights (dont miss Tenganan). If you want a flake in East Bali I recommend the Hotel Indra in Amed. Nothing to do but sit by the pool, snorkel, fish, eat, and relax. The Hotel Indra is not quite the same level as the Aman hotels or the Four Seasons, but the service is fantastic, and it has a great pool and beach.

Have a great trip.
