Probably so. Megawari is Soekarno's daughter. He was finally thrown out of goverment, just as Sudharto was, for major corruption. His family now owns most of the hotels in Bali I hear. The Balinese probably do not realize just who they are voting for when voting for Magawati. The book, "The Year of Living Dangerously, was about Soekarno's corrupt goverment and it's overthrow, but was banned in Indonesia. It was made into a movie starring Mel Gibson, which they were not allowed to film there, but it had to be made in the Phillipines since it reseambles Indonesia. Is it going to be the same old corrouption all over again? After major recession and strife in Germany, Hilter was voted in, for it seemed that maybe he could make all things better. I hope this is not a reaccurance of Indonesia's history of political strife; for the people are kept very much in the dark about who they are voting for. Any hopeful opinions on the subject?
