I'm just curious, how much you paid for your other vaccines (since you paid HEAPS). So far, I will be getting tetanus & diptheria (one combo shot) that if FREE, typhoid $25.00, TWINRIX (hep A&B combo) which is 3 shots (total of $165.00). And that's all. I'm going to our local health department next week, to see if I have missed anything. As for malaria prophylaxis, I guess it depends on where you stay and what you plan on doing when you get there. We are staying in a resort, so we should really be safe as long as we use mozzie repelant (containing a minimum of 30% DEET). However, we may plan on heading off to who-knows-where when we get to Bali. We'd really like to check out the more remote areas, so that's why I'm checking with the health dept. They constantly keep up to date with the Center of Disease Control (and others). If it turns out that Bali has several cases of malaria, then I'm not taking any chances!! After all, it's your health (and maybe your life).
