I can confirm David's recomendation of Fred's Place, just the other side of the monkey forest from Monkey Forest Road in Ubud. The carvers are skilled and careful with the quality of their work. Last November I ordered many pieces of work from these guys and left a cash deposit while I traveled for a week. The work was done when I returned, and they delivered it to the shipping office for packing and shipping. It all arrived in the US in fine shape. I also bought some artwork by I Gusti Putu Wirawan there, and Gusti was quite helpful in arranging the transaction. The carvers there can do anything you want, and they can be trusted.
