I am travelling to Bali in January for the first time with friends and am trying to decide between staying at the Melia Bali or the Hotel Intan Legian. I kind of want to be close to Kuta for the nightlife / shopping etc. but the Melia Bali has had such rave reviews here on the forum it is almost impossible to ignore. I would be most grateful for any advice especially from those who have stayed at either hotel and also from people who have comments on the travelling between Nusa Dua and Kuta.
