As above a blue taxi will cost between 10,000 and 12,000 rp to go into the Dept stores in Denpasar. A problem with this is that they assume all western tourists want to go to Dept stores! Fortunately we had a good driver the first time we went to the Bird Market and on subsequent visits I had to show the drivers where to go. Coming back it is much harder to find a blue taxi but plenty of bemos are available and will take you for 15,000 rp. They have to go the long way around, again you may have to be dropped at bemo corner, McD's etc as they will only know the major hotels.
nb If you're dropped at one Dept store then the other 2 are within easy walking distance.
Denpasar is much more than just Dept stores, with excellent museums and also speciality shopping streets for gold, fabrics, computers etc.
We spent many hours walking around the streets, even found a wholesaler with fake sunglasses at ~1500-2,000 rp each - he refused to sell to westerners though.
