Just returned from 3 weeks on Bali and Lombok.
We stayed in Nusa Tiga at the north-tip of Gili Trawangan.
Right outside the place, you walk right into some of the most beautiful corals. If you like snorkeling, I thing the Gili-islands is one of the best places. - 10 years ago I found the same on Gili Meno (Blue coral bungalows).
One warning. While we were there (I guess it always is like that), the sea was calm until aprox. 11 am. Then it became quite wild.
The small botas from Lombok to the Gili-islands are a nightmare after 11 am. Try to get there early morning ! !
