Hi, we have just returned from a two week trip to Bali and Lombok.
We stayed at the Novotel for 5 nights and it is an amazing property.
There is not much to do around the resort, but it is a great place to lull around for a while. We hired motorbikes to go and see some of the outlying areas but i had an accident and am now paying the price, (off to a orthapedic specialist tomorrow)so only do this if you are experienced.
The staff at the Novotel are lovely, food is quite good.
We ended up just having breakfast and dinner most days, saved money and breakfast is included and big buffet.
They run a trip to the local markets in Kuta beach twice a week which is free and worthwhile, interesting foods on sale and not touristy.
Good for buying ikat throws or tablecloth/hangings etc.
Also indulge in the Spa Treatments, they are excellent and they had a special when we were there that discounted 20% if you did your treatment in the morning
Very jealous of you, have a great trip!!
