Dear Travellers.
Many questions in this Forum asking about Indonesian Democratic
Party (PDI) meeting in Bali,October 8 to 10/1998.How secure it will
be for tourists and land travellers in Bali.I also received Email from others regarding this issue.
Well,the East Java PDI delegation plans to leave Surabaya on Oct 6/1998,again over land travellers make sure get all your document ready when you crossing Ketapang harbour to Gilimanuk.
Ladies and Gentlement,security will be very tight.
2000 participants will be in Bali from all over Indonesia.
As the meeting between local Chief District Police Brigadier General Gunawan and local authorities in Bali.480 guard posts were constructed in all of Bali.And 80 chief guards will be on location of the congress.
According to the NEWS,the heavist place to be guard is the harbour to and from Java to Bali.No doubt about that.!
Ngurah Rai Airport will be triple security for that days.
The PDI congress security guards promised to keep tourism in Bali as secure as possible.
For tourists in Bali or coming to Bali for that particular day:
NOT to worry about all this issue,enjoy your time in Bali.
- Don't talk about politics at all-
- Don't pay any attention to the congress meeting-
- Traffic will be number one problem -
