This year Nyepi Day, the day of silence when no entertainment or the use of fire or light is allowed, is on April 9th. NOBODY is allowed to leave the house. Only a few hotel drivers have a special permit to drive arriving or departing guests to the airport. Inside the hotels, however, life is quite normal -- behind closed curtains!
