Great but perhaps too quiet

Hi Janine,

Jimbaran is a great place to live. I do since 16 months or so and
I'm very happy here. But you might see it in a different way.

There are 4 or 5 hotels along the beach, quite expensive, and you'd
visit their restaurants only if you want to impress someone. Expect
to pay from US$25 to US$80 per person plus drinks.

However, there are about one dozen totally unpretentious but good
open-air seafood restaurants right on the beach on both sides of
the Inter-Continental. Here you pay for an excellent meal for 4
persons about US$30 with some beers included!

The beach is great. The sand is nearly white, waves not too high
and there are no dangerous undercurrents. You can rent windsurfers,
cats and sail boats at reasonable price (a few meters away from
the hotels - although if you stay at the Four Seasons the use is
free -- but you've paid for them anyway!).

I didn't find any pub in Jimbaran yet -- I go either to Kuta,
Seminyak or Sanur (its all not far away). The disco at the
Inter-Continental seems to be always empty although that might
change in August -- but I doubt whether its fun. However, the
Sunset Bar at the beach of the Inter-Continental is very
pleasant for a drink, and they offer Happy Hours 2 for 1
from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Might see you there.

To sum it up: I think you made an excellent choice. Enjoy your
days at the beach, early evenings and the sunsets, the delicious
and cheap seafood, and then have some fun in Legian or Seminyak.

Best regards from Bali.
