Arrived in Bali 22nd October with my daughter who is staying for 12 months. Changed our luggage limit with Jetstar the night before when I glanced at what she was taking!

As soon as we left the airport terminal disaster struck, daughter slips on the wet floor in the toilets and comes crashing down with her right hand slamming into the toilet bowl. Started to swell almost immediately but tried to get her to go to get it checked it was ' no mum let's go and see what it is like in the morning'
Next morning off to BIMC and after a couple of hour wait, waiting room full when we arrived and a couple of emergencies came in while we were there. Fantastic service, I am a registered nurse so understood most of what was going on around me. Went into the emergency department, history taken and off for an XRay. Attended to straight away and straight back to emergency where doctor diagnosed a break in the bone in her right hand. Computerized x Ray available for you to view straight away. We were then given options about conservative management and surgical management. At this point my daughter is emotional as does not want to ruin my holiday!!! Discussion held between the doctor and it agreed to go conservative management with a review with surgeon in a week. They reduced the fracture and put her in a half cast. Appointment made with orthopedic surgeon and we had to pay up front for this consult, then information was sent to our insurance 1 cover. They phoned my daughter several times, BIMC e mailed them all the medical reports and digital x-rays and then 1 cover contacted my daughter in five days and accepted her claim, from then on costs were paid directly to BIMC and the first visit of $480 was refunded in 10 days.
To cut a long story short she ended up with a very small reduction of the break and ended up with surgery and a plate and six screws. All the care was extremely professional and 1 cover were fantastic. I changed my flights home so I could be there and 1 cover is assessing my claim for increased costs incurred.

We then headed for Lembongan and the usual great time. Our first day we had a ceremony for my dear departed husband. Captain Aqua took us to the pontoon at Lacerations where my husbands ashes were spread and the urn pushed into the reef. A bottle of Verve and 9 of us celebrated his life, made even more special by the arrival of two special friend that I was not expecting.

Moved to Lembongan Beach House - bostock villa for two nights. This is a fantastic villa with 9 bedrooms, beautiful pool and views of the shipwreck break. Had a beautiful party at Jibaku restaurant the first night and a quiet night the next. You can rent by the room as well and is a great place to stay.

Checked on the progress of the villa I am building and very pleasantly surprised, foundations finished, walls to roof finished and door and window jams finished. Looking forward to progress by 31 st December. My builder is fantastic and reckons we will be ready to go shopping for furniture next visit. I already have a finished wall and the well has been dug.

Back to Bali and then to Borobodur in Java for two nights. Stayed at Plateran resort in borobodur and it was great. 5 star resort with all the trimmings, restaurant served first class food and rooms so private and comfortable. Went in a horse carriage to the temple and was a great experience. The temple is amazing and the guide we had made it a truly memorable experience.

My last week was spent helping the injured daughter recover but followup with BIMC has me knowing that she is in good hands, and today she got the go ahead to surf again so she is stoked.

On departure lines at immigration huge so slipped in to the Indonesian line and 50 thou saw me through straight away so I could do some last minute relaxing with a drink.

See you soon Bali.
