Just spoke to customs - if u bring in more than 50 (say 400) then you loose the 50 allowance and duty is payable on all (400) not just the excess...
Even so -
400 including tax and purchase price = A$164 (bought in Bali and declared at customs.
400 bought here in Oz = A$240 approx.
Still a saving of A$76 on 2 cartons....
