If we had the money I would choose Koh Samui. Went there for the first time last year. Its quieter than Bali i.e. no pushy sales people. The feed and drink is cheaper too. And lovely food! We found it to be much more authentic than Bali. We stayed at Chaweng Beach Resort. We are off to Bali again soon but loved Koh Samui. Advantage of Bali for us is a much shorter flight too......
