if your planning on staying upto 6 months on social visa, try medibank private even as a non member and ask for basic cover which gives you all hospital, $1000 dental, and emergency evacuation no cover on clothes computers or laptops but is very reasonable in price. shop around on the net, there are plenty of choices Aussie 1, medcare, etc.
