The most beautiful I have bought was from a village in Lombok that makes songkat....we watched as three generations were teaching and learning on the most ancient weaving looms, it was amazing.
This village has formed a co-op so all the profits made is distributed amongst the weavers, therefore giving all the women an income. I was impressed. Deb
