I've stayed at La Walon with my wife last year. I can reccomend it - usual downfalls of any of these type of hotels in that the bathroom is a bit old, but nothing at all wrong with it - very big for a bathroom.
I stayed in the old rooms, as apposed to the new block and tbh - I think it's better. It may be a bit more worn, but that's not to say its worse. Sometimes new = loss of character.
Staff are lovely, pool area is lovely and the bar is decent as is the food. It's conveniently located too.
Masa inn next door is worth a look too and in the same price range.
