everyone i know pays in AUD and they have never ever had a problem with being ripped off. I work for a bank and when people come in and ask to order usd $25 myself and a Bali regular who works there try to explain to them they dont need it, if they still insist of course we order it in for them, but I always scratch my head and wonder why anyone would bother with the USD.

Of course the bonus is you also end up with some rupiah in your pocket when you leave the airport.

I have only just returned as a regular to this forum as we have an upcomming return to Bali, and I have to chuckle that the USD or AUD for VOA is still the most common question.
