I've only heard about it recently from a Dutch organisation, Anakita Foundation, that helps support Yayasan Anak Alit Orphanage in Bali.
(They are the only orphanage i've heard of in Bali that offer individual sponsorships of the children at the orphanage)
Anakita Foundation don't have an English language website at present, however if you email them they certainly do have people who are able to translate your email.
Here is a link to two very recent posts, in English, by the Anakita Foundation about the orphanage. Visiting the orphanage presents no problems at all for the children and is welcomed.
