I'd look at a visa debit card rather than that travel card thing you've described. A visa debit card will work in ATMs and can be used for credit card transactions if you wish, but there is no actual credit line attached - just the money you have desposited in the account.
Not sure what the point of a travel card is in USD or GBP. Looks like the ANZ's visa debit would be cheaper anyway. You'd pay $11 for the travel card and only $6/mth for the visa debit account - and you could close the account when you get home.
