contact Immigration in Australia and ask them how to apply for the Visitor Visa be made exempt for the no further stay.

My husband had a multiple entry visitor visa with the no further stay on it. He could stay for a maximum of 3 months then return to Indonesia even if only for a day then return to Australia. The problem with that is now they have increased the Fiscal tax to 2.5 million rupiah, making coming and going that much more expensive.

We lodged our spouse visa in Jakarta and it took less than 3 weeks to process. He had his medical done in Australia by Health Services Australia so there was no issue with it having to be sent to Australia to be cleared by doctors here.

If you are unable to have the no further stay removed, I suggest you get all your documentation ready, have the medical done here on his next trip and be ready to lodge as soon as he exits Australia. If you have children together you will be required to submit birth certificates and if he has children from a previous relationship you will also need to submit their birth certificates. If he does have children from a previous relationship, even if they are not included in your spouse visa application it is likely they will also be required to have medicals. Sorry just not sure what you mean by having family in both countries.

To apply for the spouse visa in Australia the cost is around $2000 but if you lodge offshore the cost is around $1400.

Wish you all the best and as I say a phone call to Immigration is probably the best way to get an accurate answer to your question.
