for the last 4 years or so and have only been staying 2 or 3 nights. To us its not enough because this is our first place we stay in Bali before we move on and its a fantastic place to vege out and relax. Sometimes its a little difficult to wind down straighaway from hectic work days leading up to going on holidays, and Ubud just forces us to relax and just absorb the place. So this time (we will be there on 16th August) we are going for 5 nights, also staying at Tegal Sari. We love this place and you will too.
As Tina says, a week will be fine..just enjoy!
