When I was in Lombok in February this year, I found that the large BCA Bank branch in Mataram would not buy my $A.
I did manage to sell my $A at a bank branch in Senggigi for a rate slightly worse than the rate at Bali Airport.
Rates were very poor on Gili Trawangan.
The best rate in Bali or Lombok was found at a money changer previously recommended on this forum.
Their name was PT. Balidavalas Money Changer or Kodak Photo located just inside Poppies Lane 2 off Jalan Legian in Kuta Bali.
They did not charge commission and their rates were good. At no time was there any funny business or attempts at cheating. They did not offer small notes or engage in the magic tricks mentioned in this forum.
